Al Baqarah 111 - 120
Al Baqarah (Cow Girl)
111
ﻭَﻗَﺎﻟُﻮْﺍ ﻟَﻦْ ﻳَّﺪْﺧُﻞَ ﺍﻟْﺠَﻨَّﺔَ ﺍِﻟَّﺎ ﻣَﻦْ ﻛَﺎﻥَ ﻫُﻮْﺩًﺍ
ﺍَﻭْ ﻧَﺼٰﺮٰﻯ ۗ ﺗِﻠْﻚَ ﺍَﻣَﺎﻧِﻴُّﻬُﻢْ ۗ ﻗُﻞْ ﻫَﺎﺗُﻮْﺍ
ﺑُﺮْﻫَﺎﻧَﻜُﻢْ ﺍِﻥْ ﻛُﻨْﺘُﻢْ ﺻٰﺪِﻗِﻴْﻦَ
wa qālụ lay yadkhulal-jannata illā mang kāna
hụdan au naṣārā, tilka amāniyyuhum, qul
hātụ bur-hānakum ing kuntum ṣādiqīn
And they (Jews and Christians) said, "None will
enter Paradise except the Jews or the Christians."
That is (just) their wishful thinking. Say, "Show
proof of your truthfulness if you are a righteous
person."
112
ﺑَﻠٰﻰ ﻣَﻦْ ﺍَﺳْﻠَﻢَ ﻭَﺟْﻬَﻪٗ ﻟِﻠّٰﻪِ ﻭَﻫُﻮَ ﻣُﺤْﺴِﻦٌ ﻓَﻠَﻪٗٓ
ﺍَﺟْﺮُﻩٗ ﻋِﻨْﺪَ ﺭَﺑِّﻪٖۖ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﺧَﻮْﻑٌ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻬِﻢْ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﻫُﻢْ
ﻳَﺤْﺰَﻧُﻮْﻥَ
balā man aslama waj-hahụ lillāhi wa huwa
muḥsinun fa lahū ajruhụ 'inda rabbihī wa lā
khaufun 'alaihim wa lā hum yaḥzanụn
No! Whoever submits himself completely to Allah,
and he does good, he gets a reward in the sight of
his Lord and there is no fear of them and they do
not grieve.
113
ﻭَﻗَﺎﻟَﺖِ ﺍﻟْﻴَﻬُﻮْﺩُ ﻟَﻴْﺴَﺖِ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺼٰﺮٰﻯ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ ﺷَﻲْﺀٍۖ
ﻭَّﻗَﺎﻟَﺖِ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺼٰﺮٰﻯ ﻟَﻴْﺴَﺖِ ﺍﻟْﻴَﻬُﻮْﺩُ ﻋَﻠٰﻰ ﺷَﻲْﺀٍۙ
ﻭَّﻫُﻢْ ﻳَﺘْﻠُﻮْﻥَ ﺍﻟْﻜِﺘٰﺐَۗ ﻛَﺬٰﻟِﻚَ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﻟَﺎ
ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻤُﻮْﻥَ ﻣِﺜْﻞَ ﻗَﻮْﻟِﻬِﻢْ ۚ ﻓَﺎﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻳَﺤْﻜُﻢُ ﺑَﻴْﻨَﻬُﻢْ
ﻳَﻮْﻡَ ﺍﻟْﻘِﻴٰﻤَﺔِ ﻓِﻴْﻤَﺎ ﻛَﺎﻧُﻮْﺍ ﻓِﻴْﻪِ ﻳَﺨْﺘَﻠِﻔُﻮْﻥَ
wa qālatil-yahụdu laisatin-naṣārā 'alā syai`iw
wa qālatin-naṣārā laisatil-yahụdu 'alā syai`iw
wa hum yatlụnal-kitāb, każālika qālallażīna lā
ya'lamụna miṡla qaulihim, fallāhu yaḥkumu
bainahum yaumal-qiyāmati fīmā kānụ fīhi
yakhtalifụn
And the Jews say, "The Christians have nothing
(handle)," and the Christians (also) say, "The Jews
do not have anything (handle)," when they read the
Book. Similarly, those who do not have knowledge,
say as they say. And Allah will judge them on the
Day of Resurrection concerning that in which they
differed.
114
ﻭَﻣَﻦْ ﺍَﻇْﻠَﻢُ ﻣِﻤَّﻦْ ﻣَّﻨَﻊَ ﻣَﺴٰﺠِﺪَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﺍَﻥْ ﻳُّﺬْﻛَﺮَ
ﻓِﻴْﻬَﺎ ﺍﺳْﻤُﻪٗ ﻭَﺳَﻌٰﻰ ﻓِﻲْ ﺧَﺮَﺍﺑِﻬَﺎۗ ﺍُﻭﻟٰۤﻯِٕﻚَ ﻣَﺎ
ﻛَﺎﻥَ ﻟَﻬُﻢْ ﺍَﻥْ ﻳَّﺪْﺧُﻠُﻮْﻫَﺎٓ ﺍِﻟَّﺎ ﺧَﺎۤﻯِٕﻔِﻴْﻦَ ەۗ ﻟَﻬُﻢْ
ﻓِﻰ ﺍﻟﺪُّﻧْﻴَﺎ ﺧِﺰْﻱٌ ﻭَّﻟَﻬُﻢْ ﻓِﻰ ﺍﻟْﺎٰﺧِﺮَﺓِ ﻋَﺬَﺍﺏٌ
ﻋَﻈِﻴْﻢٌ
wa man aẓlamu mim mam mana'a
masājidallāhi ay yużkara fīhasmuhụ wa sa'ā fī
kharābihā, ulā`ika mā kāna lahum ay
yadkhulụhā illā khā`ifīn, lahum fid-dun-yā
khizyuw wa lahum fil-ākhirati 'ażābun 'aẓīm
And who is more unjust than he who forbids in the
mosques of Allah to mention His name, and seeks
to demolish it? They do not deserve to enter it
except with fear (of Allah). They will be humiliated
in this world and in the Hereafter a severe
punishment.
115
ﻭَﻟِﻠّٰﻪِ ﺍﻟْﻤَﺸْﺮِﻕُ ﻭَﺍﻟْﻤَﻐْﺮِﺏُ ﻓَﺎَﻳْﻨَﻤَﺎ ﺗُﻮَﻟُّﻮْﺍ ﻓَﺜَﻢَّ
ﻭَﺟْﻪُ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ۗ ﺍِﻥَّ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪَ ﻭَﺍﺳِﻊٌ ﻋَﻠِﻴْﻢٌ
wa lillāhil-masyriqu wal-magribu fa ainamā
tuwallụ fa ṡamma waj-hullāh, innallāha
wāsi'un 'alīm
And to Allah the east and the west. Wherever you
turn, there is the face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is All-
Wise, All-Knowing.
116
ﻭَﻗَﺎﻟُﻮﺍ ﺍﺗَّﺨَﺬَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﻭَﻟَﺪًﺍ ۙﺳُﺒْﺤٰﻨَﻪٗ ۗ ﺑَﻞْ ﻟَّﻪٗ ﻣَﺎ
ﻓِﻰ ﺍﻟﺴَّﻤٰﻮٰﺕِ ﻭَﺍﻟْﺎَﺭْﺽِۗ ﻛُﻞٌّ ﻟَّﻪٗ ﻗَﺎﻧِﺘُﻮْﻥَ
wa qāluttakhażallāhu waladan sub-ḥānah, bal
lahụ mā fis-samāwāti wal-arḍ, kullul lahụ
qānitụn
And they said, "God has a son." Glory be to Allah,
to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the
earth. All are subject to Him.
117
ﺑَﺪِﻳْﻊُ ﺍﻟﺴَّﻤٰﻮٰﺕِ ﻭَﺍﻟْﺎَﺭْﺽِۗ ﻭَﺍِﺫَﺍ ﻗَﻀٰٓﻰ ﺍَﻣْﺮًﺍ
ﻓَﺎِﻧَّﻤَﺎ ﻳَﻘُﻮْﻝُ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻛُﻦْ ﻓَﻴَﻜُﻮْﻥُ
badī'us-samāwāti wal-arḍ, wa iżā qaḍā amran
fa innamā yaqụlu lahụ kun fa yakụn
(Allah) is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
When He was about to prescribe something, He
simply said to it, "Be!" So be it something.
118
ﻭَﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﻟَﺎ ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻤُﻮْﻥَ ﻟَﻮْﻟَﺎ ﻳُﻜَﻠِّﻤُﻨَﺎ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪُ ﺍَﻭْ
ﺗَﺄْﺗِﻴْﻨَﺎٓ ﺍٰﻳَﺔٌ ۗ ﻛَﺬٰﻟِﻚَ ﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦَ ﻣِﻦْ ﻗَﺒْﻠِﻬِﻢْ
ﻣِّﺜْﻞَ ﻗَﻮْﻟِﻬِﻢْ ۗ ﺗَﺸَﺎﺑَﻬَﺖْ ﻗُﻠُﻮْﺑُﻬُﻢْ ۗ ﻗَﺪْ ﺑَﻴَّﻨَّﺎ
ﺍﻟْﺎٰﻳٰﺖِ ﻟِﻘَﻮْﻡٍ ﻳُّﻮْﻗِﻨُﻮْﻥَ
wa qālallażīna lā ya'lamụna lau lā
yukallimunallāhu au ta`tīnā āyah, każālika
qālallażīna ming qablihim miṡla qaulihim,
tasyābahat qulụbuhum, qad bayyannal-āyāti
liqaumiy yụqinụn
And those who do not know say, "Why doesn't
Allah speak to us or signs (of His power) come to
us?" Likewise those who were before them said as
they said. Their hearts are the same. Indeed, We
have explained the signs (Our power) to those who
believe.
119
ﺍِﻧَّﺎٓ ﺍَﺭْﺳَﻠْﻨٰﻚَ ﺑِﺎﻟْﺤَﻖِّ ﺑَﺸِﻴْﺮًﺍ ﻭَّﻧَﺬِﻳْﺮًﺍۙ ﻭَّﻟَﺎ ﺗُﺴْـَٔﻞُ
ﻋَﻦْ ﺍَﺻْﺤٰﺐِ ﺍﻟْﺠَﺤِﻴْﻢِ
innā arsalnāka bil-ḥaqqi basyīraw wa nażīraw
wa lā tus`alu 'an aṣ-ḥābil-jaḥīm
Indeed, We have sent you (Muhammad) with the
truth, as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. And
you will not be asked about the inmates of the Fire.
120
ﻭَﻟَﻦْ ﺗَﺮْﺿٰﻰ ﻋَﻨْﻚَ ﺍﻟْﻴَﻬُﻮْﺩُ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺼٰﺮٰﻯ
ﺣَﺘّٰﻰ ﺗَﺘَّﺒِﻊَ ﻣِﻠَّﺘَﻬُﻢْ ۗ ﻗُﻞْ ﺍِﻥَّ ﻫُﺪَﻯ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻫُﻮَ
ﺍﻟْﻬُﺪٰﻯ ۗ ﻭَﻟَﻯِٕﻦِ ﺍﺗَّﺒَﻌْﺖَ ﺍَﻫْﻮَﺍۤﺀَﻫُﻢْ ﺑَﻌْﺪَ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻱْ
ﺟَﺎۤﺀَﻙَ ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟْﻌِﻠْﻢِ ۙ ﻣَﺎ ﻟَﻚَ ﻣِﻦَ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪِ ﻣِﻦْ ﻭَّﻟِﻲٍّ
ﻭَّﻟَﺎ ﻧَﺼِﻴْﺮٍ
wa lan tarḍā 'angkal-yahụdu wa lan-naṣārā
ḥattā tattabi'a millatahum, qul inna hudallāhi
huwal-hudā, wa la`inittaba'ta ahwā`ahum
ba'dallażī jā`aka minal-'ilmi mā laka minallāhi
miw waliyyiw wa lā naṣīr
And the Jews and the Christians will not like you
(Muhammad) before you follow their religion. Say,
"Surely the guidance of Allah is the guidance (of
truth)." And if you follow their desires after the
knowledge (truth) has come to you, you will have
no protector or helper from Allah.
